Over the past year, I have made so many changes to better my health and my life. One year ago, I was 150-155 lbs at 5’3” and close to 29% body fat. I never worked out, I smoked at least 3 packs of cigarettes per week, and I ate fast food or extremely processed food almost daily. I have struggled with bulimia and anorexic tendencies in the past and went from an extreme of that to an extreme of binge eating which resulted in me reaching my highest weight and an overweight BMI. By the time summer came and I was forced to confront my new incredibly unhealthy body, I was ready for a change. I began counting calories, eating clean food as much as possible, gave up fast food, worked out 5-6 days per week, and cut back on smoking. I lost about 22 pounds. Upon returning to my college town for my senior year, I decided as one of my 2013 New Years Resolutions that I was going to train for and complete my first half marathon. Over the past 4 months of 2013, I have continued to eat clean and work out regularly, run 3-4 days per week, do strength training 3 days per week, complete Jillian Michaels workout videos 2-3 times per week, and have now officially quit smoking. I can do over 5 push-ups for the first time in my life and can run 3 miles in 30 minutes without stopping also for the first time. My weight has stayed in the 125-128lb range and my body fat has lowered significantly into the “fitness” range for the first time in my adult life. I am healthier than I have ever been. I’m completing my first organized 5K next week and my first half marathon in August, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with my progress and success.

Brittney has been my biggest motivator and my biggest inspiration through my entire health journey. She has seen me at my worst and at my best in every way possible, and her knowledge, compassion, honesty, and support have been what has kept me on the right path towards health and happiness. Even from a distance, she has always been there for me to answer any questions I have had and to give advice in any and all ways possible. She is an incredibly person, fitness/nutrition coach, and friend. 😊
